Gaming in 008

Fishing game with Wii remote sensing ability - Pull fish out when bobber goes down - Dock or boat scenarios - Weather changes (and affects the fishing) - Learning comes from meeting the challenges of catching a fish (better situations, better motor skills)

Insane Aquarium:  Online free - available as a purchase:  Purpose to feed fish - they drop money if they like it - starve if they don't - object to keep fish alive - build up in an egg and go on to next level thus increasing the bio-diversity of the aquarium (helps to fight off the aliens) - Work on balancing the environment to be able to sustain it

What role does eGaming have in the Voices project and the future of the Lake - Visualization of issues?  Exploring possibilities?  Teaching through entertainment?

Animal Crossing:  Do things in your community - plant trees, work, pay off mortgage, talk to your neighbors - Multi-player, multi-environments, shared resources - use teaches variety of skills - Working in environments where leadership & communication skills are developed

Where does the game become real life action (environmental - political - employment)?

Forums around these games (World of Zelda) and televisions shows very dynamic - How to get that same energy around the Lake

FoodForce.com - UN response game to current world issues

Studies have shown that gaming kids are connected, good students, community volunteers - games keep kids busy and therefore not involved in other things
