Discussion Thread involving Cellphones & Mapping Technologies

I think ECHO should have a floor/web exhibit that uses maps/routing, like Local Motion. We can encourage visitors to show how they got to ECHO, or how they get to work/school/wherever and then think about what the ripple effects of that are. This could take shape as an interactive "kiosk" exhibit at ECHO that also links to a page on ECHO's website. It would be cool to see what everyone does, and then maybe have a blog-thing attached where people can talk about what the activity brings up for them.

Since travel/tourism/mobility all relate to transportation in some form or other AND each of these activities is heavily e-communication oriented AND since anything travel related is engaged in a carbon footprint - one possible rallying area for a basin/network wide focus might be issues related to mobility.  Topic could include public transportation, alternative transportation (e.g. bike) and could invole individual (daily) decison making, family, neighborhood, commuity, region, interanational (Canadian bros and sisters) and, of course, extra-region via tourism.  This effort could be underpined/linked, etc. with Local-Motion, Vermont Town Health project, both www oriented efforts to provide basic information for local mobility (and recreation) decision making.
